insight wanted: trying to do something ridiculous

trying to find a way to invert a spinny mop bucket. assuming you will not put water in it again. im trying to flip it totally upside down but still using the same mechanisms so the action is the same. heres what ive got so far trying to understand how it works in the first place

parts of it are fully upside down cuz its a few diff images spliced together. Im assuming i could basically attach a pedal to the bottom, and that would be the pump action you normally get pressing the handle down on the broom inside the centrifuge. The tricky bit is also that you need to be able to apply and relieve pressure off the helical mechanism very easily so the rest can free spin but the bottom can still push it to move to MAKE it do that in the first place.

The people who designed it came up w this great idea to make this sort of wavy bouncy thing. I sort of drew it on the bottom left in white but its rough. The helical piece causes the inner component to rotate, and as it does, the edges of the wave texture lining the piece connect to the outer pieces "wave texture" too. Sorry i dont have good vocab to describe it! Not an engineer just weird and interested in this. But the waves are sorta curved and it seems like it helps to release the two pieces from being locked together easier. I think ill have to attach the pedal im thinking of doing to whatever will end up being the wavey component on top to account for the fact that it will have gravity pushing them together, but the original design of this doesnt seem to have an issue with that either so i have doubts.

im probably overthinking the connection between the mop head and the handle at the top too, artifacts of a previous design i had in mind.

Any ideas what could be done here?

RED Demo - He's quite cheery! He's always in high spirits (just like the gibs he blows up) and his smile is just as happy. Physical embodiment of this here :D

BLU Demo - Has a bad case of RBF (he is often thinking about the kills he whiffed) but he's a charmerrr <3 his smiles are s-m-o-o-t-h

RED Heavy - Big, BIG smile - he often gives this smile before mowing a person down or giving them a big hug. Hope it's the latter!

BLU Heavy - More quiet and reserved and more likely to frown, but he's always happy to pass a small, quick smile to let you know, you're doing good
